BioMatTech Campus to Open with International Symposium in Nijmegen

Bringing Together Clinicians, Researchers and Industry Leaders to Explore Tissue Banking and Biomedical Innovation

BioMed ENT is pleased to share an upcoming milestone within the BioMed Elements network: the official opening of the BioMatTech Campus in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

The Campus will officially open on Friday, November 20, 2026, with an International Symposium bringing together clinicians, researchers, tissue banking professionals and industry innovators for a day focused on scientific exchange, collaboration and emerging biomedical technologies.

Exploring the Future of Tissue Banking

One of the symposium’s primary tracks will focus on tissue banking in Europe, with discussions centered on experience, innovation and the future development of the field.

Speakers will bring perspectives from tissue banking organizations, medical technology companies and European professional associations, creating an opportunity to exchange knowledge across different areas of the tissue and healthcare communities.

From Biomaterials to Clinical Application

A second track will explore biobased local drug delivery, examining the progression from biomaterials innovation to potential clinical application.

The program brings together specialists from clinical medicine, academic research and the life sciences industry to discuss how collaboration between these disciplines can help advance biomedical technologies.

The symposium will feature a keynote presentation from Prof. Dr. Floris Rutjes, Head of Synthetic Organic Chemistry at Radboud University Nijmegen and Director of the Institute for Molecules and Materials at Radboud University.

A Campus Designed for Collaboration

Located in Nijmegen, BioMatTech Campus has been developed as an environment where life sciences and medical technology companies can work, develop and grow alongside other organizations operating within the biomedical ecosystem.

Its official opening represents an opportunity to bring those communities together — connecting scientific research, industry expertise and clinical perspectives in one collaborative environment.

The November symposium reflects that mission from its first day: Connect. Discover. Innovate.
