Nikkie van de Water joins BioMed as a graduation intern from HAN University of Applied Sciences, where she specializes in Analytical Chemistry. Her internship focuses on the early development of a formulation designed for pain relief—research that explores how medication is released from the compound.

With a strong foundation built through vocational and applied science education, Nikkie brings independence, precision, and creative problem-solving to the lab. She’s known for her analytical mindset and detail-oriented approach, thriving in hands-on research environments.

When she’s not in the lab, you can find Nikkie walking 40 kilometers a day in the Nijmegen Four Days Marches—keeping her mind and body equally engaged!

Fun Fact: She also enjoys playing indoor football! (soccer for us in the states)
