MyringoPatch

“Safe alternative to autologous fascia temporalis”

MyringoPatch is designed to overcome a secondary surgery site without compromising surgical outcome. The advantages:

  • High mechanical strength
  • Less risk of infection and scarring
  • Less pain for the patient
  • Good clinical results

Benefits

MyringoPatch is fascia tissue which is safe and easy to use and acts as a guided matrix which covers the epithilial layer  because of its fibrous, sheet-like configuration. Due to a proprietary processing method, MyringoPatch is more biocompatible compared to other allografts. Studies shown that the results of MyringoPatch are comparable to using autologous fascia temporalis[1]. It is suitable for primary and revision surgery.

The use of MyringoPatch is favorable for the patient as there is no need for a secondary surgery site. The advantages are less risk of infection, scarring,  shorter operation time and less pain for the patient.

The MyringoPatch is ready for use and will not shrink when implanted. Another advantage is the high mechanical strength, which ensures elasticity. The MyringoPatch is customized for use for myringoplasty and two sizes of round matrices are available: Ø 10 and Ø 16 mm. It is offered freeze dried and therefore easy to store at room temperature.

StemDisc and StemPatch

“Enhanced healing for revision tympanoplasty”

StemDisc and StemPatch are designed to be used as adjunct for MyringoPatch. It is a thin membrane which can also be implanted by itself to close the perforation of the tympanic membrane. The advantages:

  • Speeds up the healing process
  • Reduces risk of infection
  • Ambient storage so easy to use
  • Good clinical results

Benefits

StemDisc and StemPatch are membranes which acts as a barrier. It is biocompatible and studies shown that the results of this product are comparable to using autologous fascia temporalis[2]. It is suitable for primary and revision surgery.

The use of StemDisc and StemPatch are favorable for the patient who have a history of infections as the patch reduces chances of infection and lowers inflammatory response. It has positive regenerative characteristics which expedites the closure of the perforation.

StemDisc and StemPatch are ready for use, and will not shrink upon implantation. The biologics are customized for use for myringoplasty and two sizes of StemDisc are available: Ø 12 and Ø 16 mm and the StemPatch has a size of 25 x 30 mm. It is offered freeze dried and fresh frozen, upon request.

SeptumStrip

“Reinforces the tympanic membrane and surrounding tissue”

The SeptumStrip is developed to be used in tympanoplasty using the butterfly technique. This is a thin piece of cartilage which can be implanted to close the perforation of the tympanic membrane. The advantages:

  • Suitable for anterior and posterior perforations
  • High mechanical integrity
  • Higher graft integration rate
  • Good clinical results

Benefits

SeptumStrip is costal cartilage which is pre-shaped and ready for use in the tympanic membrane. It is biocompatible and studies shown that the results of this product are comparable to using autologous fascia temporalis in large perforations[3]. It is suitable for primary and revision surgery.

The SeptumStrip is developed for using the butterfly technique in myringoplasty. A systematic review concluded that the cartilage graft showed a higher graft incorporation compared to temporalis fascia[4]. Hearing outcomes are comparable for the two groups.

The SeptumStrip is customized for use for myringoplasty as it is pre-shaped and cut so it can be used off the shelve. It is offered freeze dried and fresh frozen.
